THE SHORT ANSWER
Organize evidence without manufacturing an authenticity score
Record thirteen independent product, source, marking, measurement, packaging, transaction and testing fields. Any conflict takes priority over completeness. A fully documented checklist means the record is ready for review, not that GoldObserve has authenticated the bar.
PRIVATE WORKSHEET
Capture the exact bar and every unresolved mismatch
Nothing is uploaded or saved by GoldObserve. This tool organizes evidence; it cannot authenticate metal, certify title, replace an assay or guarantee a seller.
STATUS LOGIC
Conflict first, missing evidence second, review readiness last
| Status | Trigger | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Conflict requires escalation | One or more mismatches | Pause and reconcile the source or test |
| Incomplete evidence | No conflict, at least one missing field | Collect the source or transaction record |
| Documented for review | All applicable fields documented | Human review; still no authenticity verdict |
PRIVACY BOUNDARY
Keep sensitive identity and payment data outside the worksheet
Use a neutral product or lot reference and record the underlying invoice in your secure document system. The CSV is a portable checklist, so protect it according to the information you add. Do not enter government identifiers, full payment credentials or vault access details.
PRIMARY SOURCES
Rules, issuer records and consumer safeguards
- LBMA Good Delivery technical specifications for wholesale-bar weight, fineness, marks, date and dimensional fields.
- LBMA Gold Current List for a dated refiner and current-bar-mark check. GoldObserve links to the list rather than reproducing its proprietary contents.

- U.S. Mint bullion consumer awareness for seller, specification, premium and third-party certification checks.

FAQ
Gold bar evidence questions
Can this checklist authenticate a gold bar?
No. It records whether evidence is documented, missing, conflicting or not applicable. It cannot test composition, certify title or guarantee a seller.
What happens when a field conflicts?
The result changes to conflict requires escalation. Pause, reconcile the official source and consider professional non-destructive testing.
Is my checklist uploaded?
No. The form runs in the browser and GoldObserve does not save it. You can copy a summary or download a CSV.
Why is LBMA status only one field?
A refiner listing is source evidence, not a retail-bar authenticity verdict. Product, marks, packaging, seller, invoice, measurements and testing remain separate.
