WHAT THE PRICE MEANS
Spot reference, currency conversion and weight conversion are separate layers
DESIGN & PERFORMANCE
A small isolated component with predictable behavior
USE-CASE CHECK
Where the widget adds value—and where a full calculator is better
Do not imply the widget is your buying price; disclose purity testing, payout percentage and fees separately.
Keep the observation time visible so an older post does not make a current quote look like a historical one.
Link readers to a melt-value calculator when the question concerns a specific item.
Product premium, inventory, delivery, payment method and buyback terms still determine the actual quote.
DATA METHOD & TERMS
Attribution makes the number auditable
The iframe uses GoldObserve's current gold and silver market endpoint. The endpoint attempts configured providers in order, applies unit conversion, caches responses for a short period and returns the provider, observation time and stale flag with the price. Read the full data methodology and provider status notes.
- Free embedding requires the visible GoldObserve name and detail link to remain intact.
- The widget is informational and does not constitute investment, tax, legal or dealer-pricing advice.
- Do not relabel the price as a guaranteed bid, ask, fix, exchange settlement or retail offer.
- Automated scraping or republishing outside the provided iframe is not included in this embed permission.

GOLD PRICE WIDGET FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the GoldObserve gold price widget free?
Yes. The iframe widget is free to embed on personal and commercial websites. Keep the GoldObserve attribution and detail link visible so readers can inspect the quote context.
How often does the widget refresh?
The widget requests a new quote every 60 seconds. The displayed observation time belongs to the upstream market record, so it may be older than the browser refresh time.
Does the widget show a dealer buying or selling price?
No. It shows a source-labelled spot reference converted to the selected currency and unit. Dealer premiums, spreads, taxes, fabrication, shipping and local fees are not included.
Can I display gold and silver in a local currency?
Yes. The builder supports USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR, CNY, AED, JPY and CHF. Non-USD quotes may combine the metal source with a separate foreign-exchange source.
Will the widget hide stale or unavailable data?
No. A stale observation is labelled, and an unavailable provider produces an explicit unavailable state. GoldObserve does not fill a missing quote with a fabricated number.
Does the widget track visitors on my website?
The iframe loads GoldObserve resources and therefore creates ordinary server requests. The embed code does not require an account, API key or script running directly in the host page.
