What the embedded gold chart measures—and what it leaves out

Each line is built from historical close observations returned for gold in the chosen display currency and unit. A non-USD series may involve both a metal price source and a foreign-exchange conversion. The footer identifies the provider family and most recent observation time available to the endpoint.

The chart is a market reference, not an executable dealer bid, retail ask, exchange settlement or official fixing.
Changing from ounce to gram or kilogram rescales the same metal reference; it does not add product purity or fabrication.
Range performance compares the first and last returned closes. It excludes premiums, spread, tax, storage, insurance and cash yield.
An observation date is not the same as the moment a reader opens the page. The source time remains visible so those concepts are not confused.
If the provider fails, returns too few observations or supplies invalid values, the component withholds the chart instead of interpolating a substitute.

The widget requests GoldObserve's source-labelled historical endpoint for the selected currency, unit and range. If the source is unavailable or returns an invalid series, the widget shows an unavailable state instead of drawing replacement data.

Can readers inspect exact values on the chart?

Yes. Moving a mouse across the chart displays a point, horizontal and vertical crosshairs, the observation date, price and change from the prior observation. Touch and keyboard inspection are also supported.

How often does an embedded chart refresh?

The iframe requests the selected history when it loads and refreshes it every five minutes while open. The source observation time is shown separately from the browser request time.

Does the chart include dealer premiums or physical-gold costs?

No. It displays a historical gold reference converted to the selected currency and unit. Product premium, fabrication, tax, shipping, storage, insurance and dealer spread remain outside the line.
