LIVE TURKEY GOLD WORKSPACE
A TRY-per-gram reference is not automatically a dealer's Cumhuriyet Gold price
Gold in Türkiye is discussed through gram gold, Borsa İstanbul market units, 22-carat jewellery and Cumhuriyet Gold. These labels are related but not interchangeable. The live comparison below uses ten official Turkish State Mint weights, calculates fine-gold value in lira and keeps product premium, payout and break-even assumptions visible instead of inventing a local dealer quote.

QUICK ANSWER
Match the Turkish gold quote to its market and unit
Useful for a common metal-value denominator.
Borsa units depend on the eligible bar format.
Cumhuriyet Gold is 22 carat, not pure gold by gross mass.
Product demand, costs and spread remain outside the reference.
Do not compare a delayed exchange index, a futures settlement, an international spot midpoint and a jeweller's cash selling price as if they were the same object. Write down the instrument, product, unit, currency, purity, quote side, timestamp and executable quantity before comparing two lira amounts.
TRY PRICE ENGINE
Local gram gold combines dollar gold and USD/TRY
Use compatible observations from the same time and on the same bid, ask or midpoint basis.
Enter comparable gold and exchange-rate values
Use the same dates and one consistent exchange-rate convention.
Local return = (1 + USD gold return) × (1 + local-currency-per-USD return) - 1.
Market translation only. Physical premiums, dealer spreads, tax, delivery, storage and observation-time differences are not inferred.
These are teaching inputs, not recorded history or a forecast. A weaker lira can raise the local gold reference even when USD gold is unchanged. The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye publishes daily indicative buying and selling rates at 15:30 on business days, but explicitly says those rates are not binding on people or institutions.
BORSA İSTANBUL MARKET UNITS
TRY per gram belongs to mini bars, not every exchange product
Borsa İstanbul defines standard unprocessed gold as eligible bars or ingots with minimum 995/1000 fineness. It lists mini bars of 1, 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 250 and 500 grams, one-kilogram bullion and large bars over one kilogram. A small retail product is not automatically exchange-deliverable merely because its label shows one of those weights.
Weight alone does not prove standard-market acceptance.
Standard unprocessed gold starts at 995/1000.
Retail investors transmit through an eligible intermediary.
The actual traded product, custody and value date still matter.
OFFICIAL CUMHURIYET GOLD
Ziynet and coin groups contain different amounts of gold
The Turkish State Mint is the only legal manufacturer of Cumhuriyet Gold. It publishes two 22-carat groups: ornament gold, commonly called Ziynet, and the gold-coin group, colloquially called Ata Gold. Each has five sizes, but the corresponding gross weights differ. The fine-gram values below are calculated from the Mint's 916.6 fineness and nominal gross weights.
A “full” label therefore does not identify one universal mass. Confirm the group, exact size, Mint tolerances, condition and authenticity. Multiply gross grams by 0.9166 for theoretical fine content; do not multiply an already calculated fine-gold amount by 91.66% again.
FOUR DIFFERENT PRICE OBJECTS
An exchange index, futures quote and retail coin ask are not substitutes
Source, currency, unit and timestamp stay visible.
Borsa İstanbul states displayed data are delayed at least 15 minutes.
Contract size, expiry and settlement make it different from a physical purchase.
Product premium, availability, payment and buyback create the final result.
If a source does not identify the object, do not use it. GoldObserve's live TRY value is an auditable reference, not a claim to reproduce Borsa İstanbul's official index or a Turkish jeweller's board.
BUY AND SELL AUDIT
Normalize the whole Cumhuriyet Gold round trip
01Record the TRY gold reference, provider, observation time and fine-gram unit.
02Identify Ziynet or coin group; do not treat “Ata” as a separate official specification.
03Verify quarter, half, full, two-and-a-half or five size and nominal gross weight.
04Calculate fine content from 916.6 fineness before comparing the metal value.
05Request the complete selling price for the exact product and quantity.
06Add payment, delivery, insurance, testing and other transaction costs separately.
07Obtain a same-time executable buying price from the same or competing dealer.
08Keep invoice, packaging, assay and provenance evidence with the product.
09Do not infer retail tax or customs treatment from Borsa exchange rules.
10Reject guaranteed appreciation, unrecorded cash pressure and vague product labels.
The worksheet's premium and payout defaults are transparent what-if assumptions, not Turkish market averages. Replace them with written dealer figures before making a purchase decision.

Official market units, coin specifications and exchange-rate boundaries
- Borsa İstanbul Precious Metals Market documents price units, bar sizes, fineness, sessions and settlement conventions.
- Borsa İstanbul PMM FAQ explains market eligibility, retail-intermediary access and purity systems.
- BIST-KYD Gold Price Indices identifies index construction and the delayed-data boundary.
- Turkish State Mint Cumhuriyet Gold manufacturing provides the two official 22-carat groups, ten nominal weights and tolerances.
- CBRT indicative exchange-rate methodology explains the daily calculation, publication time and non-binding status.
Live TRY pricing comes from GoldObserve's market endpoint and retains provider and observation time. Coin fine ounces are reproducibly calculated as official gross grams × 0.9166 ÷ 31.1034768. The page does not reproduce a dealer board, predict USD/TRY, certify a product or provide tax advice. Review the data methodology and source register.

TURKEY GOLD FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the gold price in Turkey today?
GoldObserve shows a source-labelled Turkish-lira gold reference and converts it into official Cumhuriyet Gold fine-metal values. A retail transaction can differ because the product, dealer spread, fabrication, payment costs and timing remain separate.
How is gram gold calculated in Turkish lira?
A simplified reference is USD gold per troy ounce multiplied by TRY per USD, then divided by 31.1034768 grams per troy ounce. Use observations from compatible times and the same bid, ask or midpoint basis.
Does Borsa İstanbul trade gold in TRY per gram?
Borsa İstanbul states that TRY per gram is used only for mini bars, while TRY per kilogram applies to other eligible bars. USD and EUR trading uses ounce units. These are wholesale market conventions, not a guarantee of a retail dealer price.
Can an individual trade directly on the Borsa İstanbul Precious Metals Market?
No. Borsa İstanbul says retail investors cannot trade directly, but may transmit transactions through an authorized intermediary institution. Eligibility, custody and costs should be confirmed with that institution.
What is Cumhuriyet Gold?
The Turkish State Mint describes Cumhuriyet Gold as state-guaranteed 22-carat gold produced only by the Mint. It publishes two groups, coin and ornament or Ziynet gold, with five official weights in each group.
Is Ata Gold a separate official coin type?
The Turkish State Mint says the Cumhuriyet gold-coin group is colloquially called Ata Gold. Its glossary warns that Ata Gold is a popular name rather than a separately produced official product.
Why are a full Ziynet coin and a full Cumhuriyet coin different weights?
The Mint lists 7.016 grams for full Ziynet gold and 7.216 grams for the full gold-coin group. Both are 22 carat, so they contain different fine-gold quantities and should not be valued as interchangeable products.
