EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK / RAS / MONTHLY STOCK / LOCAL REVIEWED BASELINE

Euro-area Monetary Gold Data Explorer

Inspect selected national-central-bank monetary-gold stocks with exact months, preserved missingness, source hashes and a clear boundary between reported stock and inferred purchases.

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Read a reported monetary-gold stock without turning it into a purchase claim

The ECB RAS series reports monthly national-central-bank monetary-gold stocks. For example, the Germany series reports 107,683,000 fine troy oz for 2026-07. That is a stock observation, not a disclosed transaction total, and the page keeps source status, missingness and the local version hash visible.

INTERACTIVE DATA EXPLORER

Select a national series and inspect the exact month

Choose one of the 21 configured national series. The chart, selected value, table, CSV and share link all use the same country and month state; the browser loads one local country slice at a time.

MONTHLY STOCK PATH

Reported fine troy ounces, one national series

Use pointer, touch or arrow keys to inspect an exact month. The line is a reported stock path; it is not a purchase-flow series.

THIS PAGE MEASURESMonthly reported stock

ECB RAS observations for the selected national central bank, normalized to exact fine troy ounces.

THIS PAGE DOES NOT MEASUREPurchases or global reserves

A stock change does not identify motive, transaction type, valuation effect or revision. Twenty-one configured national series are not world coverage.

DATA STATELocal reviewed baseline

Checked Aug 15, 2026; generated Aug 15, 2026. The upstream endpoint is used by maintenance, not visitor page loads.

This export contains GoldObserve-derived or source-cleared observations with citation metadata.

Source: European Central Bank RAS dataset. Local baseline: 5,873 rows, 21 configured national series, normalized records SHA-256 113ad50dbc18560f. The browser loads one country slice at a time; HTTP last-modified metadata is retained as delivery evidence, not presented as an official publication timestamp.

INTERPRETATION BOUNDARIES

Stock, flow, valuation and revision are different evidence questions

QuestionThis page providesDo not infer
QuantityMonthly reported fine troy ounces by selected national seriesGlobal reserve quantity or a consolidated euro-area total
ActivityAdjacent stock observationsPurchases, sales, transfers or policy motives
Data stateSource status, missingness, exact local hash and review timestampA complete history of every ECB revision before another approved vintage exists

Read changes as differences between reported stock observations. If the economic question is “who bought gold and when?”, this dataset alone is insufficient; a separate transaction or release record is required.

ECB MONETARY-GOLD VERSION GATE

The research page is live; revision history remains gated

GoldObserve can reconstruct the exact reviewed ECB monetary-gold baseline from Git, including its source payload hash, normalized-record hash, country scope and preserved missingness. The explorer is available now, but a second approved official vintage does not exist yet, so the site deliberately shows the evidence gap instead of drawing a revision trend.

WHAT IS PROVEN

The current 5,873-row file, its 21-country scope, quality counts and hashes are reproducible from commit c417925.

WHAT IS NOT PROVEN

No adjacent official vintage exists in the ledger, so zero observed revisions cannot be claimed and no stock change is labelled as a central-bank purchase.

NEXT ACCEPTANCE

Check, hash-approve and commit a later ECB vintage; then compare exact country-month keys, values and statuses. Any deletion, revision, scope change or continuity gap stops automatic adoption.

Evidence boundary. Only one reviewed ECB vintage is currently retained. That proves the baseline can be reconstructed, but it does not prove how ECB revisions behave. No country total, euro-area aggregate, purchase estimate, trend or forecast is inferred from this ledger. Inspect the first-party source.

LOCAL DATA CONTRACT

Visitors read the reviewed local baseline; maintenance checks the first-party source

The page serves 5,873 normalized rows from the repository. The maintenance checker contacts the ECB endpoint, compares exact country-month keys, values and statuses, and writes only an ignored candidate report. A later official vintage must pass review before the published baseline changes.

QUALITY RULEMissing stays missing

Zero values remain zero and are not replaced by interpolation.

Decimal shifts preserve source precision.
FAILURE RULEAlert before replacement

A failed or changed candidate does not overwrite the baseline.

Revision evidence remains a separate gate.

FAQ

ECB monetary-gold questions

What does the ECB monetary-gold explorer measure?

It displays monthly national series from the ECB RAS dataset. The selected value is a reported stock of fine troy ounces, not a monthly purchase total.

Does a rising stock prove a central-bank gold purchase?

No. A stock change can reflect transactions, valuation, reclassification, reporting changes or revisions. This page does not infer a motive from a change.

Is this a global central-bank reserve total?

No. The local baseline contains 21 configured euro-area national series. It is a regional research view and does not substitute for a global reserve database.

Why are zero and missing values shown differently?

A reported zero is retained as zero. A missing observation remains unavailable and is not interpolated or replaced with an estimate.
