THE SHORT ANSWER
A calendar tells you when evidence is due—not what gold must do next
This calendar keeps official schedule dates, reference periods, time zones and schedule status visible. CPI, employment, PCE, FOMC and CFTC positioning can all alter market expectations, but none has a fixed one-step relationship with gold. Use the calendar to prepare questions and verify timestamps, not to manufacture a trade.

CPI can change inflation and policy expectations. A surprise does not imply a fixed direction for gold, real yields or the dollar.

Published CPI observations are not consensus surprises, gold-price reactions, causal estimates, forecasts or trading instructions. Seasonally adjusted CPI series can be revised when BLS updates seasonal factors.

READING PATH
Separate the schedule, the observation and the market reaction
Scheduled releaseThe official calendar says when a publication is expected. Tentative dates can still move.
Reference periodCPI for July and a COT report dated Tuesday describe earlier periods than their publication dates.
Observed resultThe released value, revision and methodology are separate evidence not prefilled by this calendar.
Market pathGold, real yields and the dollar can react before, during or after publication—and can reverse.
Post-release auditRecord the actual release time and source version before comparing prices or claiming an explanation.
SOURCE AND UPDATE CONTRACT
Every date remains attached to the agency that scheduled it
Coverage runs from 2026-08-12 through 2026-12-28. Normal page loads use the reviewed local snapshot; they do not scrape agencies from the browser or PHP runtime. A future updater must report additions, revisions and deletions separately, preserve the prior snapshot on failure and require review before changing public dates.
Observed-result policy: Released actuals, prior values and revisions enter a separate append-only reviewed archive only after the event and only from the matching agency. Consensus, expected values, market reactions and forecasts are not result fields. Until an official result has been reviewed, the calendar continues to show the schedule without inventing an actual value.

Boundary: Official schedules can change. Scheduled and tentative entries are not observed releases, market-impact forecasts or trading signals. FOMC entries retain an unavailable time until the future publication time is verified from an official surface.

FAQ
Gold market calendar questions
Does an event on this calendar predict the gold price?
No. A scheduled release identifies when information may become available. Gold can react through real yields, the dollar, risk appetite, positioning and other channels, and the direction is not predetermined.
Why do some FOMC events have no time?
The Federal Reserve meeting calendar confirms future meeting dates but does not state a publication time for those future entries on that page. GoldObserve leaves the time unfilled until it is verified.
Why is the CFTC schedule labelled tentative?
CFTC describes its 2026 release schedule as tentative and notes that federal holidays can delay publication. The report normally describes positions from the preceding Tuesday, not positions at the release time.
Will the same event show a different date in Shanghai?
It can. Timed events are converted from their UTC instant, so an afternoon New York release can appear on the next calendar day in Asia. Untimed FOMC entries retain their official meeting-end date.
