Unit count affects storage, verification and resale work
Ten one-tenth-ounce coins and one one-ounce coin contain the same fine-gold total, but they are not operationally identical. Ten pieces require more capsules or slots, more serialised inventory records where used, more individual inspections and potentially more transaction lines. In return, the owner can sell smaller increments.
A disciplined comparison assigns value to that flexibility without pretending it is free. Add storage and insurance, record the expected number of future sales, and compare dealer minimums or fixed shipping costs.

What are the standard Gold Krugerrand bullion sizes?
The established bullion range is one ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce and one-tenth ounce of fine gold.
Does a half-ounce Krugerrand weigh half of 33.930 grams?
The official displayed mass is 16.965 grams, exactly half the displayed one-ounce mass. It contains one-half fine troy ounce and uses the same 916.67-fine alloy.
Are there two-ounce and one-fiftieth-ounce Krugerrands?
The South African Mint's 2026 proof range includes two-ounce, one-twentieth-ounce and one-fiftieth-ounce products in addition to familiar sizes. Do not assume every proof size is part of ordinary bullion distribution.
